I've lived in dorms. I've lived in big cities. It didn't take long to learn: Laundry is expensive.
That's why Revolutio is joining with local businesses and churches in Greer to provide detergent, dryer sheets, baskets, and other laundry items that people need.
Tough economic times force us to rethink how to help one another. We give clothes so we can get a donation write-off, but what about the folk who have to clean them? If they don't have a washer and dryer, laundromats are usually the preferred means of cleaning. That can get expensive. In one month, a family may easily spend over $150...money that could go to their food budget or other necessities.
We're not raising money. We're collecting soap. (and other items) Detergent, baskets, clothes pins, dryer sheets, and anything else you can think of to donate will be collected in laundry baskets downtown Greer. While you're out at the store, grab an extra item of laundry stuff. Or use a coupon!
Take your donations to CAFE MUNDO before DECEMBER 23rd (Wednesday).
By helping us help one another, we'll be able to enter laundromats and build relationships to encourage people within the community.
